Citizens of Sarasota to Participate in Largest Gathering Against Offshore Drilling in History

1000 to Join Hands at Siesta Key Public Beach
WHAT: Local “Hands Across the Sand” gathering in solidarity with over 400 events around the U.S. and in 15 other countries around the world to raise awareness about the dangers of offshore drilling and to call on leaders to end our oil dependence and move America into a clean energy future.   
 
WHO: Sarasota County citizens and visitors, including Representative Keith Fitzgerald, FL-69, U.S. Congressman Vern Buchanan D-13, Sarasota County Commissioners Jon Thaxton and Nora Patterson, and City of Sarasota Mayor Kelly Kirschner.
 
WHEN:   Saturday, June 26 at 11:30 a.m.
 
WHERE:  Siesta Key Public Beach, 948 Beach Road, Sarasota, FL
